The nights are drawing in...

Hello my lovely readers!
Back with yet another outfit post... I am being dangerously good this week ;)
Today has consisted of cleaning my room, playing with my kitten Ted, and taking these photographs. To say it's been a full on day would most definitely be a lie.
I desperately wanted to film a Youtube video but unfortunetly the weather was not my friend and it was basically dark the whole day. I know I know, not cool.
I did manage to take a few snaps of this jumper I picked up from Topshop when I went shopping Monday, it's a black and white knit turtle neck which is so cosy and snug!
I purchased it in a size 6 but it's still quite oversized which is most probably the idea of it!
If you did fancy one, they're £30 and come in a variety of different colours! Marvellous!

I styled it with my trusty h&m blazer which I wear all the time, I need to invest in a plain black winter coat as the blazer isn't cutting it! But teamed with again, my trusty tartan scarf it kept the cold wind at bay! For jeans I am wearing my Miss Selfridge petite high waisted jeans in black, and then my New Look heeled boots.

It was literally pitch black at about 4:20 today, it always amazes me how in the summer darkness creeps in around 9pm, and now look at us, hibernating away at 4pm! I secretly do love it though.
Have a great rest of the week, half way through now you can do it!!
Take care,
love Fay

Tartan On Riverside

Hurrah! New outfit post is up! Today I hit up the shops in 'Reading' with my best friend Nat.
I really enjoy shopping in Reading as it has all the shops I could need, but it's not gigantic so it makes for a quick, enjoyable shop. We also tried the restaurant 'giraffe' and had some very tasty patties! Nom!

I have been on the look out for a decent coat for this winter and I am yet to find one. I spotted the most perfect camel coloured coat in Primark but unfortunately none were in my size, which has left me feeling very deflated as I've looked in three Primarks now! I'm just going to say it wasn't meant to be *brushes the tears away*.
Joking aside it was a lovely day and I managed to get a few snaps of my outfit for you!

Today I am wearing a jumper from Forever 21 which you can't really see as I was so wrapped up in my scarf, which is from h&m! The blazer I am wearing is also from H&M, my white 'mom' jeans from Topshop and my black boots from New Look. The bag is from 'mango touch', it is actually my aunties so I need to give it back soon!
I ended the day with a bottle of prosecco between Shane, Nat and myself and of course watching I'm a celeb!
Back to work tomorrow but I did buy a few bits today which I will of course be blogging about soon!
Take care,
love Fay

The Sunday Sit Down #1

So I have come to the realisation there is nothing quite more therapeutic then sitting down at the end of a long week and writing a blogpost, with of course a cuppa tea close by. I thought I could call these weekly posts 'The Sunday Sit Down' so I do hope you enjoy!
The past few weeks have been very busy and unfortunately my blog has taken a step back which upsets me! I'm trying to organise someone to help take photographs for me which is the main reason I struggle to get posts up! But enough with the boring excuses, my blog will hopefully be up and running soon!
This week was very exciting as the new Hunger Games was released (hunger games mockingjay part 1) I adore the books, so seeing it bought to life on film is much anticipated! And I certainly wasn't disappointed! I of course won't give too much away, but all I'm saying is... go and watch it!

So this post is basically me saying new outfit posts will be up soon!
 Catcha later!

There is always a reason to smile!

Happiness. It's a word full of hope, expectation and desire. And we all have our own ways of achieving it. Yours might involve being curled up on a sofa with a blanket watching your favourite tv show, or some might find it on a tipsy saturday night with your friends at your favourite bar. Isn't it funny how we all have our own different ways of acquiring happiness, but the end result is the same.

Sometimes I think we can take for granted what happiness is. I think we put too much pressure on ourselves to do crazy, exciting things in life, to the point we dismiss the small things, like catching up with an old friend, or laying in bed watching a movie with your loved ones. I believe our happiness is made up of the small moments in life that we should appreciate more. So what if you haven't been on holiday this year? Or you haven't figured out your next career move? Or plans of moving out of your parents home haven't happened yet? These 'big' moments in life are special, they're rare and when they happen they will change your life, but they can't happen every day.

I believe everyones time will come to have these life changing moments that will fill you up with joy and happiness. But life isn't made up of a continuation of extreme highs, if it was I'm sure we'd all be exhausted! I suppose what I'm trying to say is, don't take the small moments in life for granted, or think you aren't happy because your life may not be where you want it to be. I don't know what I want to do with my life which stresses me out no end, and when I feel completely fed up I take a step back and remember what's important. I have a great family, friends, a place to live and a job I enjoy.
I may not be the most popular person, or have the biggest house, or have thousands in the bank, but I'm happy.

I always say, no matter where you are, or what you're doing, always try and make the best out of any situation. And when the big moments come, which they will, it will be great, but just remember they are rare, so appreciate the small things that make you happy. A few of mine involve grabbing a coffee with a friend, or catching up on Youtube videos, going down to stay with family for the weekend, having a shopping trip or even just the first cup of tea in the morning. Don't take any days of your life for granted, you are here for a reason, and yeah not everyday is going to be the best day or your life, nor will it be the worse. But the fact you are here today is a bloody good reason to be happy, so stop putting so much pressure on yourself, and just enjoy the ride!

Take care,
Fay x

Hello! I don't know about you, but I am SO ready for Autumn. I might have mentioned it a few... hundred times now. But the excitement is real my friends! I popped over to Windsor last weekend, one of my favourite places to shop as it has all my favourite shops literally next to each other! Zara, H&M, Topshop, New Look and costa is opposite. It's hard not to think it was designed for my shopping needs! My sister was kind enough to treat me to this jumper dress from Zara. I've Been Getting Lost In Different Seasons

So I bought this skirt quite a few weeks ago now from River Island and haven't yet worn it, and then it kept getting pushed to the back of my wardrobe. However, this morning I rediscovered it with a slight *gasp* and pulled it out, gave it an iron and chucked it on! I recently bought this cute black sweater from New Look which is really thick and has a ribbed texture. It adds a little bit more to a plain black top.

I am so excited for the colder months, I've got my eyes firmly set on a few key pieces for autumn/winter which I cannot wait to buy and wear! I'm not sure whether this is a bad thing to say, or whether I am just your average girl, but I just love clothes. They bring me a pure happiness that I can't even explain. But the excitement of the new season to come brings a huge smile to my face. Anyone else with me?

Top - New Look
Skirt - River Island
Boots - New Look
Tights - Primark

Let me know what you're excited to start wearing for the colder months, scarves? Gloves? Mine is definitely a coat!

Oh Look Who It Is...

All I can say is, it's been too long my friend! But I am back with a new burst of inspiration as autumn/winter is just around the corner and I couldn't be more excited! So please forgive me for the lack of posts!

This little outfit is one I have been wearing a lot recently as I love myself a pop of tartan and it's perfect for the autumn weather. However, it's not too cold yet so I've been daring bare legs, with my flatforms which keep it more appropriate for the warmer weather!
The top I am wearing is actually a dress from Miss Selfridge, I tucked it into shorts as I don't have a high cut tank top which is what I've been after! So a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do right?

Top/dress - Miss Selfridge
Skort - Topshop
Shoes - New Look
Hat - Topshop
Bag - Gift from Thailand

Hope you enjoyed this post, I have more to come so make sure you are following my blog or my social networks so I can let you know when I post next! :)
Have a lovely weekend,
Fay x

Blog Swap | The Camera's Lying

Hi Fay's blog and blog readers! I'm Amy from the blog 'The Camera's Lying' or the 'TheCameraLiesBeauty' on youtube. I've known Fay for close to two years now (how time flies!) and always admired her style and keen eye for fashion. Her blog is somewhere I go to when I need some outfit inspiration. Fay and I decided to guest post on each others blogs, for a creativity boost and to add some fresh content to each of our blogs- mix it up a bit!

My post today is an outfit I chose to wear on a blustery day trip to the beach. It was sunny, but quite windy. I wanted to give of June vibes in my outfit, whilst also staying snug. I paired a high waisted aztec print skirt from Warehouse, with my Primark knitted kimono for a warm twist on a Summer staple. I add a simple white tee and pink sandals to tie the look nicely together, without taking away from the amazing print of the skirt. For accessories, I couldn't help but wear my brand new head piece from Primark. I feel exotic and stylish in it, and no one would ever guess it only cost me £4! I finished off the look with my pretty floral ring from Pia Jewellery and that was it!

Let me know in the comments below what you think of my excursion outfit, and if you are as into head pieces as I am. Don't forget to head on over to my blog, to read Fay's post and thank you to Fay for guest posting with me!

Life's For The Living

So here I am again, unsure of how to start a blogpost. So instead of trying to think of something different and witty to say.. I'll just kick it off with hello, and hope you are well!
Now that's over.. I'm excited to share with you this post because I'm featuring a necklace from TreasureBox which is an online jewellery/accessory store which stock lots of beautiful items!

I must say, I'm never one for wearing big statement necklaces but when Emily, the style editor at TreasureBox contacted me, I asked her to send me anything she'd think I like!
I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled out this 'treasure' from the little brown satin pouch! Made up of my favourite colours, baby pink, pastel mint green and white, I couldn't wait to style it!

The necklace is big and 'statement' but the pastel colours make it very easy to wear for both day and night. I didn't feel overdressed wearing it in the day, which is always a fear that I aught to get over with big statement jewellery, but it made my simple outfit 'pop' which is always a plus! For the evening, pairing this with a little black dress would also be a perfect duo!

For the rest of my outfit, I wore my white Topshop crop top, black h&m blazer, Topshop Joni jeans, Topshop hat, and my new kitten heels from New Look.

I hope you liked this post, and gave you an idea of how to style statement necklaces if you, like me are never ones to run to the bold necklaces hanging up in the shops! But I have been converted and will definitely be doing that next time I'm in town!

Thanks again to TreasureBox for the necklace!

Take care,
Fay

You Shine Even On A Rainy Day

Oh would you look at that! Fay's wearing the jumpsuit... again!
But in my defence, I wasn't planning on blogging my outfit today, I was going for a nice Sunday walk around town and we stumbled across some really amazing places that would be perfect for pictures!
So I will certainly come back...but in a different outfit! I promise! But when I like something, I obsess. It's the same with songs, I play them over and over till I'm sick of them!
My two friends Natalie, Shane and myself tried a little Italian restaurant I've been eyeing up the past few weeks and it was so good! My belly was so content. Definitely found a little treasure, and it's right on my door step, which I would say was a good thing, but my growing tummy and decreasing bank balance might state otherwise!

Kimono - H&M, Jumpsuit - Topshop Petite, Shoes - New Look,  Hat - Topshop, Bag - Accessorize

Also the day these photos were shot, I popped into Topshop and picked up this gorgeous black hat. I've wanted one for ages and as I was filming a video in London Monday, I finally got around to picking one up! I think it's going to be another staple item in my wardrobe, it will go with any outfit and any colour... so easy and simple to wear!

So today is Monday and I just got back from a day in London shooting a street style video. I can't wait to edit the clips that Mollie and myself got! Mollie is an amazing photographer and agreed to help me make this 'What's London wearing' video! So a big thank you to Mollie for filming! I will link Mollie's social networks below!

Topshop Petite Jumpsuit

Jumpsuit - Topshop, Belt - Peacocks, Bag - Accessorize, Shoes - New Look, Hat - H&M

Well I'm not entirely sure what's going on in the UK at the moment with the weather, we seem to have been blessed with this mysterious golden circle in the sky that is radiating heat? It's being called 'The Sun?'
Joking aside, it's been amazing having this little heat wave for the past few days, which is supposed to end tomorrow so I'll be bringing the jumpers back out I'm sure!
Yesterday I picked up this jumpsuit from the petite section in Topshop and I'm obsessed with it! My friends have heard so much about this jumpsuit... we aught to get a room!
I can't stop saying 'and it will go with this... and it will go with this!!'
They're fed up of hearing it now so I'm telling you! Hope you don't mind!

I love this jumpsuit because I can wear it in the summer like I have in this post, or throw a jumper over the top, or throw a colourful crop top underneath. The possibilities are endless! You could also slip on a pair of heels and statement jewellery and wear it on a night out!

I picked the jumpsuit up for £25 and it's a petite size 4. It fits me perfectly around the waist and on the leg which never happens! I don't need to roll up the bottoms.. hurrah!
My only hope now is that Topshop will bring this out in a number of different colours as it's so easy to wear and very affordable!

I also picked up these shoes which I believe are called 'flatforms' and I am in love!
They are so comfortable and gives me a bit of height without killing my feet! They are perfect for summer and I'm hoping I can pick up a white pair as well! (If New Look do them) They were £20. I also finished the look with my trusty purple hat from H&M which I think breaks up the monochrome outfit!

Hope you liked this post,
Let me know your thoughts!
Take care,
Fay

Here Comes The Sun!

Hello my lovely readers!
Today has been a beautiful day here in England, and surprisingly quite warm! Dare I say it, is summer on it's way? I hear we are getting a heat wave this week... let's hope that isn't the last we see of the sun this year!

I was lucky enough to be sent some clothing items from the online store 'Choies'. The first item I'm featuring is this cute 'Cherry' gingham shirt. I love the black and white background, layered with a red 'CHERRY' print and matching red collar. I thought it would match perfectly with my mom jeans, and a black belt to tie in all the colours. I also found this denim jacket hanging up which I threw on to break up the black and white.

Hope you liked this outfit, thank you for reading!

Girl, don't beat yourself up. Your best is good enough.

Yesterday, my best friends and I went to our usual spot on a sunday afternoon. It occurred to me that the town we visit would be the perfect backdrop for some blog photos! I love this town, it is paved with cobbled streets, cottages and tiny front doors. Perfect for me.

So after our coffee and bite to eat, which of course was the lemon drizzle cake from Costa because I cannot get enough, Natalie took some outfit photos for me! As Shane looked on saying 'are you done yet?' Boys eh?!

Coat - H&M, Top - H&M, Jeans - Joni Topshop, Shoes - New Look, Bag - Accessorize

Luckily the sun was shining and the rain was no where to be seen so I seized the opportunity to whip out this cute, pastel pink coat I picked up from H&M in February as it is just getting warm enough to wear! It doesn't have a hood so it's risky business taking it out with the weather the UK has been having, but the rain stayed away!
I have been obsessed with this white bag from Accessorize I picked up a few months back, I take it everywhere and it's the perfect size for all my essentials!

This week I have been listening to Jake Bugg non stop, the title to this blogpost is a song called 'Note to self' which I think is beautiful! So have a listen :)

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Let me know your thoughts!
Take care,
Fay
